Many people say they endure the Cache Valley winters just to be able to enjoy its beautiful summers. Well, summer is officially upon us, which is sure to mean two things: lots of days with the kids at the pool and the dreaded swimsuit shopping. Shopping for a swimsuit, no matter your shape or size, is not an easy task. I have been searching high and low for the best, modest swimwear for us mamas, and I have learned a few things I want to share to help in the quest for the perfect suit.
The biggest thing I have learned in my search for a swimsuit is where to look. If you are looking for something that is made with quality material and with lining and good support, you aren’t going to find it just anywhere, and you usually get what you pay for. I hate to say that, because I am looking for a good deal just like you, but honestly you won’t get something you love unless you spend a little more to get the nicer quality. However, these higher quality suites will stay in your closet longer and you will get more use out of them. Still, you can find great deals on swimwear, especially if you wait till the end of the season and prepare ahead for next year (although there may not be as many choices left); discounts can range from 15 to 60 percent off.
Here is a list of places I have found that fit my criteria of stylish, high-quality and modest swimwear:
- Albion Fit: An online, Utah-based company with a shop in the City Creek mall in Salt Lake City.
- Down East: Their swimsuit collection is getting better and better every year, and there is a shop right here in Logan.
- Kingdom and State: Available online.
- Poco Loco Swim Shop: Cache Valley’s local swim shop on Main Street.
Be ready to try suits on. Swimwear all fits differently, even within the same line. If you are ordering online you may need to send some things back once you try them on. Cup sizes, necklines and the cut at the thigh and backside can all differ and you need to get the right coverage for you, so you can feel confident.
