Erica Smith and her husband, Matt.

Jenny Mathews, contributing writer

Erica Smith, M.D., is an OB/GYN with Intermountain Budge Clinic OB/GYN and loves her job. In her own words, “What’s the difference between a 40-hour-work week and a 50-hour-work week if you love every minute of what you do?” Cache Valley was appealing to her and her husband, Matt, due to the wide range of outdoor activities here, like fly fishing and hiking.

In this episode, we discuss women’s health topics from puberty to menopause, pregnancy, loss, childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum depression. Doctor Smith values the opportunities that her occupation gives her, like talking with young girls about their bodies and helping them feel more comfortable and educated about the process of becoming a woman; counseling grieving parents through loss or disappointment; and often being the one to share the best day of a woman’s life as she brings a new baby into the world.

Special thanks to Stacked at 31 N. Main and this week to Intermountain Budge Clinic OB/GYN for sponsoring this episode.
