Jenny Mathews, contributing writer
Erin and TJ Davis are the brains, heart, and fire behind Pickleville Playhouse– the local theater company with its iconic Bear Lake venue. Pickleville is famous for bringing families together to laugh, cry, hiss, boo and cheer for the last 40 years.
TJ is the talent behind the mustache of the company’s most beloved character, Juanito Bandito. Juanito’s debut in 2008 was an instant hit and has since become a tradition for families near and far. The holiday show, Juanito Bandito’s Christmas Carol, marries the shenanigans the outlaw is famous for with the music and “good feels” the holiday season inspires- all in one hilarious, family-friendly experience.
It was love at first sight for Erin when she saw TJ on stage in some geeky glasses and a plaid suit. They both share some tender experiences that led them to this point and give us a peek into what life is like researching, writing, producing, performing, and running the business as well as the busy Davis household.
