Leaves are turning and temperatures are cooling, meaning it’s time to bring out the crockpot to make some homemade soup for the family. This Chicken Noodle Soup is a warm, hearty recipe filled with lots of flavor. It’s the perfect comfort food for fall!

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients: *Serves 4

  • 1 can (48 oz) chicken broth
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cook and cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 cups egg noodles, cooked
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 2/3 cup diced onion
  • 2/3 cup diced celery
  • 2/3 cup diced carrots
  • ½ cup frozen peas
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tbs. salt
  • 1 tbs. black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients (except for the noodles) in a crockpot.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours OR on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Add noodles 30 minutes before serving.
  4. Serve with fresh bread or crackers.
