Use your leftover cranberry sauce in this apple cranberry crisp! Brown sugar and oat crumbles melt into the sweet filling of apples and cranberries, creating a tasty dessert to top with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients:

6-7 tart apples

1 cup leftover cranberry sauce

2 T lemon juice

1 T cornstarch

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. almond extract

1 cup flour

1 cup brown sugar

¾ cup butter

1 cup oats

pinch of salt

vanilla ice cream for topping

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Peel the apples and cut them into bite-sized slices.

In a 9×13’’ glass baking dish, toss the apples with lemon, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and almond extract. Gently mix in the cranberry sauce.

In a medium bowl, melt the butter and mix in the flour, brown sugar, oatmeal and salt. Spread over the apples and bake for 30 minutes.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.
